Getting started

I created and account to follow some other blogs. While I set things up I thought maybe I should be brave and post some of my thoughts. Then I did nothing as I tend to do and although I though about it from time to time I still did nothing. Part of the reason is I procrastinate something fierce, part was having the time and part was I was not sure what to write or how to write about it. I cannot see myself as posting often and I am not sure I can see anyone being interested.

I should explain as I have read others doing that I have been fascinated by spanking for as long as I can remember. I am middle aged and pre internet, I am telling this because that combined with the small Canadian city where I grew up meant there was not the access to resources that there is today. Other than some childhood play I had no real experience until I was twenty years old.

So as stated in my profile I am a switch which it seem is a rarity even in a rare community. I get as much pleasure from giving as receiving and an Ideal session to me would include both. The one advantage to being a switch was that after overcoming all the other obstacles and finding someone else in the scene or just willing to play I could take the opposite role. I have found that even though many people in the community have been on or at least experienced both sides of the lap they are usually on one side or the other. I have also found that often people will try to tell me that I am really a top that like to sub or vice versa and not truly a switch. I like to believe what makes me a switch and not some dabbling in the other side is that I like to switch not only with the same session but with the same person. But if anyone does read this please give me your thoughts I would enjoy hearing.

What I like; I like over the knee because of the contact and related intimacy I like hand spanking for the same reason. That is not to say that I do not enjoy other positions and implements of which I have tried/used many. After the hand I like the hairbrush, paddles (so many choices) and a tawse. Wow I keep re-writing this part so I hope I make sense. I get the same out of giving a light spanking as a severe one but a big part of it for me is that the sub is getting out of the session what they want as well. On the flip side I still have a preference for play or erotic scenes but I like hard spankings. I have a fairly good tolerance most of the time which has been driven higher at times by skilled hands. I have a weakness for the strong, strict femme fatal archetype but it is not without me wanting to get my hands on her ass as well.

I am interested in and excited by reading about people in lifestyle domestic relationships but could not do it. I do not feel I could stay either submissive or dominant in a relationship full time at least not on scale I have read about on the blogs. I do like the fact that the people posting have found what they like and what works for them. My wife is a strong woman who challenges and supports me and I would like to believe I do the same for her (but she may have a different story lol).
